Information Concerning the 2009 Spring Election
 
1.
We are expanding from 8 to 10 Geographic Regions this spring.
2.
 The Regions holding elections in 2009 are 4, 5, 6, 8, & 9.
3.
 Region 4 incumbents are Russ Hobbs(Christopher) and Jerry Warren(Thompsonville).
4.
 Region 5 will be electing one new member to serve two years.  Mary Ringering (Red Bud) remains on the BOC until her term expires in 2011.  She and the new member elected this spring will be the incumbents at that time.
5.
 Region 6 is ditto Region 5 with Andrew Johnson(Marissa) remaining on the BOC until his term expires in 2011, at which time he and the newly elected member this spring will be the incumbents. The newly elected member’s term will be for two years.
6. Region 8 incumbents are Mike Hayes(Field) and Sholnda Horton(Waltonville).
7. Region 9 has no present members and thus we will be electing two new members.  Those new members’ terms are for 3 years.
8.
 ALL NEWLY ELECTED MEMBERS OF THE BOC TAKE OFFICE JULY 1 OF THEIR ELECTION YEAR.
9.
 NOMINEES must be full time, ISBE certified employees of a SIJHSAA member school within the Geographic Area he or she represents.  Each member school within that Geographic Region may nominate one member for each vacancy in their region.
10.
 Regions 4, 8, and 9  schools will be nominating 2 each, while Regions 5 and 6 will be nominating one each.
11.
 Incumbents may be nominated again, as we have no statute on how many terms a Board of Control may serve.
